Our Story

Founded in 2009

Our story does not even start with lambs. Before 2009, pigs were the craze on the Aupperle homestead, but the early 2000s were hard years for Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome,  PRRS, as many farms throughout the Midwest struggle with. With the loss of the hogs, the farm just wasn't the same. With that thought in mind, a dozen sheep were purchased. This started an upward climb of shows, ribbons, and personal and farm growth.

A defining moment in 2009 was the Iowa State Fair, Justin took a homegrown ewe and won Grand Breeding and Overall Ewe. Since then it has progressed into many county fair winners, Shootout qualifiers, and a Top Ten finish out of 38 at the North American International Livestock Exhibition in Louisville, KY.
